The Story
TK Beads Industry is Ghana's largest powder-glass bead manufacturer, founded by Thomas Kofi in 1995 in the Krobo heartland. The workshop recycles 50 tons of glass bottles annually, crushing them into powder, forming beads in clay molds, and firing in traditional kilns at 800°C. This is the Krobo tradition — a 400-year craft protected by Ghana's Cultural Policy. TK Beads supplies ethical jewelry brands in the US and Europe and was featured in the Smithsonian's African Art collection.
