The Story
The Naadam Shea Cooperative is a 640-woman cooperative in Northern Ghana, certified by the Global Shea Alliance. The women hand-harvest karité nuts, cold-press the butter, and produce black soap using a 200-year-old recipe passed through Dagomba families. Naadam partners with the Savannah Women's Development Project to provide financial literacy training. Their shea butter is Grade A certified by the Ghana Standards Authority and supplies L'Occitane and The Body Shop supply chains.
