NKWO is a Nigerian fashion brand founded by NKWO Onwuka in 2011, pioneering the 'Post-Consumer' textile movement in West Africa. The brand transforms recycled denim and factory waste into hand-felted fabrics using a proprietary technique called 'NKWO felt.' Based in Lagos, the workshop employs 25 artisans who upcycle textile waste into couture-grade Adire pieces. NKWO won the Vogue Italy 'Who is On Next' prize in 2012 and has shown at London Fashion Week and Arise Fashion Week.
