The Story
Founded in 1953 by Costa Tome, TOMOCA (Torrefazione Moderna Caffé) is Ethiopia's oldest specialty coffee roastery. The iconic Addis Ababa roastery on Wavel Street has been roising single-origin Ethiopian beans for 70 years — the same Italian drum roaster imported in 1953 is still in use today. TOMOCA pioneered the concept of Ethiopian coffee for Ethiopian pride, roasting for domestic consumption when most Ethiopian coffee was exported raw. Now exported to 15+ countries.
